Great post. I do the same with my dreams. Whenever I wake up, I immediately write them down to free up space in my mind before I go back to sleep and keep dreaming until the morning when I journal about them.

Sounds like rough nights but once you get used to it becomes a fascinating process.

Appreciate the kind words Cristiano. Thank you for this! I always wake up at odd times with great ideas and by the morning they’re gone. I shall start right away

Those are the best ideas. Even if in the end you won’t use them, they always lead to something else insightful

I like that Cristiano. For everyone making notes like this, I am curious. Where do you put them and how do you find them back?

I do it on my phone because it is easier. I write down in bullet points and then in the morning I expand on paper with details so I can research the meaning of them the following day.

Great tip. I do the same. Notion workspace is very useful to for it

You can set up a database where you can track your ideas, thoughts, research, categorize and more. Helps me organize my thoughts and refine the process

Hi Christiano. I have this kind of notes in handwriting, on my phone, on Mac, from website links etc. too. About 2600 in the last 1,5 years. All in 1 place with search.

Thank you for the tag and for sharing! I love this post - truly illustrates how strong habits and self discipline are the most underrated markers of self love.

Walks, whether by I'm by myself or as leading a photo walk, have been such an integral practice in developing my photography and relationship with NYC 🤍

Very welcome, michal!

Totally agree

There’s something about walks that help you unwind creativity.

Pair that with some good scenery, and you allow fresh innovative ideas to basically write themselves

Too funny! I read the first 2 lines and I said to myself …said every Indian parent ever! And then you followed up with your Indian parents.

I think I’m more of an 80/20 person and my teachers have always criticized me for this. They would say you know you could be getting an A in my class. I would say yes but I’m perfectly happy getting the B/B+….getting the A will take me 30% more work and I have a life to live!

Well said 😂 you explained it perfectly. There are more important things in life than being an over achiever. You’ve got to ask yourself if it’s really worth it. If it is then go for it!

Agree 100%. 80/20 works

I appreciate the shout, Rylan!

I am working on my practice of jotting things down when an idea or inspiration strikes. So many come in moments where I am out or doing something else and I used to think I'll remember them later - now I embrace my short bursts and short term memory for genius and rely on my notes app to not let them be forgotten.
